STOWE, Vt. – The Lyndon State College men's tennis team hosted Thomas College Sunday afternoon, falling 8-1 at the Topnotch Tennis Center.

The Hornets started the day with an uphill battle after having to forfeit No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.  The Terriers' Tyler Small and Zack Disch then took first flight doubles 8-1 over Trevor Updike and Dominick Agresta.  Mike Sigsbury and Jake LaCerda were able to take second flight doubles for the Hornets with an 8-5 win over Ross Munn and Nate Philbrook.

In first flight singles, Small topped Updike 6-0, 6-1 while Disch took the second flight 6-0, 6-2 over Agresta.  Caleb Mora grabbed No. 3 singles for the Terriers 6-1, 6-3 over Sigsbury.  Fourth flight singles was a battle with Munn coming out on top over LaCerda 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).  Philbrook rounded out the singles matches at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kalnicki.

The Hornets (1-4, 0-1 NAC) host Norwich Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

The Terriers (2-7, 1-1 NAC) host Johnson Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
