Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – In just their second home match in two years, the Lyndon State College men's tennis team fell to Colby-Sawyer College 9-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play Wednesday afternoon.
The Chargers took all three doubles matches as Ryan Sawyer and Dean Boodakian paired up in No. 1 doubles to down Lyndon's Trevor Updike and Dominick Agresta 8-1 while Gustav Jigrup and Shawn Bissonette topped Michael Sigsbury and Jake LaCerda 8-1 in No. 2 doubles. Ross Kenney and Alex Townsend downed Derek Kalnick and Kyle Berteau 8-0 to finish out doubles.
Jigrup took first flight singles 6-3, 6-0 over Updike while Sawyer topped Sigsbury 6-1, 6-1 in the second flight. Boodakian, Kenney, Bissonette, and Townsend each earned 6-0, 6-0 victories over LaCerda, Kalnicki, Berteau, and Ben Park in the third through sixth flights.
The Hornets (1-6, 0-2 NEAC) travel to MCLA on Saturday for an 11:00 a.m. match.
The Chargers (6-5, 2-0 NEAC) host MCLA on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
