Box Score ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. – The Lyndon State College women's tennis team faced Green Mountain College in non-conference action Sunday morning taking the 7-2 loss on Senior Day.
Lyndon's Seniors Haley Bouley (Holliston, Mass.), Carina Alden (Monterey, Mass.), and Alexa Richard (Haverhill, Mass.) were recognized for their time on the team before the start of the match.
The Eagles' duo of Jannelle O'Connell and Claire Chapman started the match in doubles action with an 8-5 victory over the Hornets' Alden and Richard.
Paige Vlahos and Lauren Coye took the second flight of doubles for the Eagles' 8-3 over Samantha Fisher (Brattleboro, Vt.) and Savannah Jackson (Barre, Vermont).
The Eagles continued their momentum in the third doubles match as Ruby Santiago and Nang Hseng Leng Wann grasped the 8-4 win over Faibe Achinda (Hinesburg, Vt.) and Roze Yar (Thailand).
In singles action, the Eagles' Vlahos, O'Connell, and Chapman clinched the first three flights. The Hornets' Bouley and Jackson obtained wins in the third and fourth flights. Nang Hseng Leng Wann finished out the day for the Eagles.
Today wrapped up the 2016-2017 season for the Lyndon (0-12, 0-7 NEAC) women's tennis team.
Green Mountain (2-9, 1-6 NEAC) travels to Delhi State on Wednesday, October 5th at 4:00 p.m.
