Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon State College faced Johnson State College for the second time in three days, losing 7-2 on Thursday.
The highlight of the match for the Hornets was freshman Greta Larson's (Williamsville, Vt.) first career singles victory. Larson topped Ashley Fogg 7-6, 3-2 in the last match of the evening. Also picking up a victory for the Hornets was Alexandria Maynard (East Hampton, Conn.) in third flight singles against Kali Covell 6-4, 3-0.
The Badgers swept Lyndon in doubles as Annette Kaminski and Katherina Van Woerkom defeated Maynard and Christina Boyce (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) 8-1 while Nicole Monick and Jana Somero scored 8-4 in the win against Carina Alden (Marlborough, Mass.) and Nichole Jones (Lisbon Fall, Maine). Rounding out the doubles flights were Kali Covell and Jordan Miller over Alexa Richard (Haverhill, Mass.) and Greta Larson 8-4.
In singles matches, it was Kaminski over Boyce 6-0, 6-2, Von Woerkom over Nichole Jones 6-1, 6-0, Somero over Richard 6-2, 6-2, and Monick over Alden 6-1, 6-1.
The Hornets (1-7, 0-4 NEAC) travel to play Colby-Sawyer in a conference match on Saturday at 1:00pm.
