Box Score HAMPDEN, Maine – The Lyndon State College women's tennis team fell to Husson University in a conference match Sunday, 8-1. Maine native Nichole Jones (Lisbon Falls) recorded the lone win for the Hornets in her second flight singles match against Charlotte Bednarz.
Earlier in the day Jones and doubles mate Carina Alden (New Marlborough, Mass.) lost the second flight doubles match to Bednarz and Sarah Smith, 8-3. Husson's Meridith Blessard and Katie Pratt defeated Christina Boyce (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) and Olivia Bernard (Westmore, Vt.) 8-0 in first flight doubles while Kelsey Pelletier and Elizabeth Adley took third flight doubles 8-2 over Alexa Richard (Haverhill, Mass.) and Alexandria Maynard (East Hampton, Conn.) to give the Eagles the sweep in doubles.
In singles matches it would again be Blessard over Boyce 6-0, 6-0 and Pratt over Bernard 6-4, 6-2. Pelletier, Smith, and Adley would each gain victories over Richard, Alden, and Greta Larson (Williamsville, Vt.), respectively.
