RUTLAND, Vt. – Lyndon fell to 0-2 on the young season with an 8-1 loss to Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's action Saturday afternoon at the Vermont Sport and Fitness Club.

Green Mountain College swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles pairings. 

The Eagles were led buoyed by Truman Cressey and Jack Tiernan who teamed up to claim their first collegiate doubles win with an 8-3 victory in third flight doubles over Dominick Agresta (Barnegat, N.J.) and Kyle Burteau (Richmond, Vt.). Tiernan then went on to score his first collegiate singles wins in sixth flight singles, as he battled past Agresta in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.

Cressey won the first set 6-4 over Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.), but fell in the second set 4-6 and third pro set 10-4, giving Lyndon its first match victory in fourth flight singles. 

Connor Braden and Nate Berner-Tobin took their first flight doubles match over John Corey (Bennington, Vt.) and Trevor Updike (Newburyport, Mass.) 8-4. Braden lined up against Michael Sigsbury (Pownal, Vt.) in the number one singles spot and earned a 6-0, 6-2 straight sets victory. Meanwhile, Berner-Tobin powered past Corey in number two singles, 6-1, 6-1. 

The remaining second flight doubles match win was notched by the Eagles' pairing of Jack Hepburn and Grey McCampbell over the Hornets' duo of Sigsbury and Hall, 8-4. Hepburn continued his impressive shutout streak in singles play to start the season in the number three singles spot, recording another 6-0, 6-0 victory over Updike.

McCampbell got the better of Michael Desmond (Enfield, Conn.) in fifth flight singles, 6-3, 7-5, winning both sets in come-from-behind fashion.  

Lyndon (0-2) will travel to (New London, N.H.) Saturday to face Colby-Sawyer at 1 p.m.
