Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Pavin Parrish led a balanced scoring attack with 22 points as Castleton upended Lyndon 84-72 Saturday in a North Atlantic Conference men's basketball contest at Stannard Gymnasium.
The victory upped the Spartans record to 6-7 over and 4-3 in NAC play. The Hornets fell to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play with the loss.
The Spartans connected on 60 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half to build a 45-31 lead. Lyndon outscored Castleton in the second half, but was unable to sustain its momentum long enough to erase the 14-point halftime deficit.
Parrish had three rebounds, four assists and three steals in the game while Rob Colutti chipped in 21 points and two rebounds. Chad Copeland had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for the winners and Carnelius Green added 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one block.
Avery King (Pawtucket, R.I.) had 20 points off the bench to lead Lyndon and David Johnson (Washington, D.C.) had 17 points, four rebounds, six assists and two steals. Rob Alers (Central Falls, R.I.) had 12 rebounds in the loss and George Carle (Central Falls, R.I.) grabbed 11.
Lyndon returns to the hardwood Friday when it travels to Castine, Maine to face Maine Maritime Academy at 7:30 p.m.
