Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis team improved to 4-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division with a victory over Lyndon Saturday afternoon at Kelsey Tennis Courts.
Colby-Sawyer swept Lyndon by a score of 9-0. The Chargers improve to 5-3 overall while and 0-2 in league play while Lyndon drops to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the NEAC.
In doubles action, the No. 1 doubles team of Ashlyn Ramsay and Ashley Woodside beat Christina Boyce (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) and Nichole Jones (Lisbon Falls, Maine) 8-1 and the No. 2 doubles team of Oxana Tkachenko and Sam White repeated the feat by topping Carina Alden (Marlborough, Mass.) and Alexandria Maynard (East Hampton, Conn.).
Christine Hill and Ellen Graham teamed for an 8-3 victory over Stephanie Burke (Claremont, N.H.) and Alexa Richard (Haverhill, Mass.) at No. 3 doubles.
Ramsay and Tkachenko did not drop a game at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, blanking Boyce and Richard 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Woodside won in 6-0, 6-1 straight sets over Maynard. Lauren Blanchard (6-2, 6-1) and Graham (6-0, 6-2) defeated Jones and Alden while Julia Varney cruised to a straight-set victory at sixth flight singles, respectively.
Lyndon plays host to Green Mountain Sunday at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center. The match gets underway at 1 p.m.
