Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Husson lacrosse won its first game of the 2014 season Saturday with a 5-3 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Lyndon.
Brandon Corbo put the Eagles up 2-0 in the first half, scoring goals with just a few ticks left in the first quarter on a Vinny Visconti assist and again half-way through the second frame on a pass from James Seager.
Husson two-goal lead was short-lived entering the third quarter, as Adam Peeler (Worcester, Mass.) created a nice opportunity for himself to cut the lead to 2-1 just 36 seconds into the second half.
Jack White answered moments later for the Eagles, giving Husson a 3-1 lead, collecting a pass from Corbo for the score. Husson furthered their lead nearly five minutes later when Nolan Brown tucked away his first goal of the day unassisted to go up 4-1.
Richard Aberle Jr. (Essex, N.Y.) made the game 4-2 in the final two minutes for Lyndon, taking a pass from Billy Bazyk (Manchester, Vt.) to set up an intense fourth quarter.
White scored on his own for Husson just two minutes into the final quarter to push the Eagles lead to 5-2 and seal the win.
Aberle and Bazyk added another goal moments later, to no avail.
