Box Score BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's basketball team defeated Lyndon 93-76 to advance to the North Atlantic Conference Championship.
The Eagles dominated the first half setting the tone for the game, with four of their first six scoring drives resulting in three-pointers Husson jumped out to a 13-7 lead with 17:05 remaining in the first half.
Husson shot 44.8 percent from the field in the first half, including six three-pointers. The Eagles were paced by Aaron Willis who led the team with nine points in the first half. David Johnson led the Hornets with 15 points in the first half.
The Eagles opened up the scoring in the second half on the hot hands of Phil Leighton who started the half with two three-pointers, lending an assist to Donte Cottonham for a jumper, edging the lead to 52-34.
Willis ended the night with 15 points, Dan Fleming and Trevon Butler both added 14 points. Butler grabbed the double-double with 10 rebounds.
Johnson finished the night with the game high 27 points, three rebounds and three assists.
