LYNDON CENTER, Vt. —Colby Sawyer visited Lyndon Saturday and walked off with an 8-1 win, including a sweep of all three double matches.

In first doubles, Elizabeth Lincoln and Ashlyn Ramsay beat Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.)  and Olivia Bernard (Barton, Vt.) 8-1. The No. 2 doubles the team of Charlotte Horton and Oxana Tkachenko topped Kelsey Johnson (White River Jct., Vt.) and Alexandria Maynard (East Hampton, Conn.) 8-1. Finally, in third flight doubles the duo of Ellen Graham and Conley Dion finished off the sweep by besting Carina Alden (New Marlborough, Mass.) and Stephanie Burke (Claremont, N.H.) 8-2.

In single action, the Hornets avoided a shutout when Alexa Richard (Haverhill, Mass.) beat Ziyoda Saidova 8-2 in a pro set in sixth singles.

In all of the other five single matches the Chargers won them convincingly.  In first singles, Flynn lost to Lincoln 6-1, 6-1 and in No. 2 singles Bernard fell to Ramsay by an identical score of 6-0, 6-0. In the third flight, Johnson lost to Horton 6-2, 6-0 before Kelly Butler (Hubbardston, Mass.) dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Tkachenko.

In fifth singles, Maynard lost 6-0, 6-1 to Graham.
