WATERVILLE, Maine — The Thomas women's tennis improved to 2-2 on the season with a 6-3 win over Lyndon on Sunday, Sept. 15.
In doubles action, the Terrier team of Jessica Bowen and Lindsey Allen defeated Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.) and Olivia Bernard ((Barton, Vt.) 8-3 in the No. 1 matchup. In second flight singles, Thomas' Dalia Williams and Emily Howard beat Kelly Butler (Hubbardston, Mass.) and Alexandria Maynard (East Hampton, Conn.) 8-4 and the tandem of Logan Bruneau and Katie McAllister completed the sweep for Thomas with an 8-0 win over Hannah Frigon (Cabot, Vt.) and Carina Alden (New marlborough, Mass.) in No. 3 doubles.
In first singles, Flynn beat Bowen 6-1, 0-6, 6-2 before Williams topped Bernard by scores of 6-0, 6-2. Allen defeated Maynard 6-0, 6-4 in third singles, and Michaela Stanley won the fifth flight 6-2, 6-2 over Stephanie Burke to seal the match at 4-4.
Alden closed out the match for the Hornets with a 6-1, 6-3victory over McAllister in No. 6 singles.
