Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Tim Patten tallied two goals and collected two assists in Lyndon's 20-4 season-ending loss to Canton Tuesday at the Lyndon Athletics Field. The four points were enough propel Patten to a new single-season scoring mark in the short history of the Hornets' lacrosse program.
Patten closed out the 2013 season with 34 goals and 14 assists for a total of 48 points. The mark eclipses the old record of 45 points (39 goals, 6 assists) set by Chris Mansour in 2009.
Jason Thompson scored six goals to lead the Kangaroos (6-6) while Greg Brangman and Chris Gamble added three each. Patrick Connelly chipped in two goals for Canton and the tandem of Ryan Cardiff and Garrett DiTullio earned two assists each.
Jeff Hammond and Corey Spuck shared the goaltending duties for the Kangaroos, combining for a total of eight saves in the contest.
Nathan Rivard and Robert Crupi had one goal each for the Hornets (1-12) and Colin Young had an assist. Starting goaltender Matt Reynolds left early in the first quarter with an injury and was replaced by James Strange who made 21 saves in the game.
