ST. ALBANS, Vt. - Lyndon dropped its lone match of the weekend to move to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Hornets got out of the gate quickly; winning two of three doubles matches, but the Terriers came roaring back in singles play – taking four of six matches.
The Lyndon tandem of Michael Howard (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) defeated Eric Morin and Tyler Small 8-5 in first flight doubles before Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.) and John Corey (Bennington, Vt.) upped the Hornet to 2-0 with a 8-3 victory over Caleb Mora and Joe Greco in No. 2 doubles. Thomas earned its first win of the day when Dakota Dupling and Gersham Renee recorded an 8-6 triumph over Lyndon's Michael Desmond (Enfield, Conn.) and Chas Legge (Essex Junction, Vt.).
Morin topped Howard 6-3, 6-3 in first doubles and Small took down Schofield 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles. Mora beat Corey 6-1, 6-1 in third singles but Hall kept the Hornets in the match with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Greco in No. 4 singles. Dupling sealed the win with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Daniel Weiner (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) in fifth singles. Legge closed out his day with a 6-4, 7-6 (10-6) victory over Renee in sixth singles.
