CASTLETON, Vt. - Lyndon fell to 1-4 on the season with a 9-0 loss to reigning North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division champion Castleton.

 In the doubles competition, the Spartan team of Michelle Podnecky and Kate Bucci defeated Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.) and Kelsey Johnson (White River Junction, Vt.) 8-1. Castleton's Brittni Racine and Chelsea Crehan made it 2-0 by besting Olivia Bernard and Kaitlin Cunningham (Manteca, Calif.) 8-1.

Olga McIntyre and Lauren Fedorka close out the doubles sweep for the Spartans by beating Margaret Harrington (Pembroke, Mass.) and Margaret George (Glover, Vt.) 8-4

In singles play, Podnecky defeated Kayla Flynn 6-1, 6-1 and Kate Bucci got by Johnson 6-2, 7-6 (6-1). In third singles, Racine earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Bernard while McIntyre beat Harrington 6-3, 6-3. Crehan and Fedorka collected wins in fifth and sixth singles over Cunningham and George by identical 6-0, 6-1 scores.
