RUTLAND, Vt. - Lyndon's season came to an end Saturday with a 6-3 loss to Johnson State in the semifinals of the North Atlantic Conference Eastern Division playoffs.

In doubles action, the Badgers' Ryan Joy and Chance Swafford teamed up to defeat Michael Howard (Rocky Point, Conn.) and Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) 8-3 in the No. 1 flight. In second doubles, Lyndon bounced back behind Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.) and Paul Thibault (Westfield, Mass.), who topped Kyle Young and Alen Turan 8-4, but the Badgers took the lead for good in third doubles when James Dempsey and Ben Algar downed Daniel Weiner (Wells, Maine) and Donald Jenness (Newport, Vt.) 8-6.

Joy gave Johnson a 4-1 cushion in first singles by defeating Howard 1-6, 6-4, 7-6. Sawfford beat Schofield 6-3, 6-1 in second singles before Turan bested Powell 6-1, 1-6, 10-8 in a hard-fought No. 3 singles match.

Thibault and Weiner collected wins for Lyndon in fourth and fifth singles, respectively, topping Young and Peter LeBlanc 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. Algar closed out the victory for the Badgers with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Jonathan Lehane (Killingworth, Conn.) in fifth singles.
