NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich continued its recent hot streak as the Cadets picked up their fifth win in their last six matches with an 8-1 win over Lyndon at Shapiro Fieldhouse.
Norwich swept all three doubles matches to get off to a strong start and then cruise from there in the singles portion of the match. Collin Hyte and Christian Hoskey each won at first and second singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 to help lead NU to the season sweep over Lyndon State. The duo also combined to take first doubles over Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) and Jonathon Lehane (Killingworth, Conn.) by a score of 8-6.
Luis Galvez downed Paul Thibault (Westfield, Mass.) 6-2, 6-1 at third singles and combined with Michael Settle to take second doubles over Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.) and Thibault 8-3. Settle beat Lehane at fifth singles 7-5, 6-3 and Robert Martin swept Donald Jenness (Newport, Vt.) 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
Joseph Dvorak and Brandon Carver combined to take third doubles 8-2 over Daniel Weiner (Wells, Maine) and Jeness. The Hornets received their lone win from Weiner at fourth singles, who beat Carver 6-3, 6-4.
