POULTNEY, Vt. – Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) tallied a game-high 21 points, grabbed nine boards, swatted three shots and had three steals to lead Lyndon to a decisive 80-56 victory over Green Mountain in North Atlantic Conference women's basketball action.

In a hotly-contested first half, the Eagles grabbed an early 9-6 edge on a Victoria Mullins jumper. The Hornets struck right back and, at the 13:28, Lawson put the Hornets ahead for good. A layup by Sarah Adams (Alton, N.H.) at the seven-minute mark gave Lyndon an eight-point advantage, but the EaglesC battled back, cutting the lead to only three with 2:52 remaining. Green Mountain, however, went scoreless the remainder of the stanza and headed to the break trailing 37-27.

The Hornets burst out the gates in the second half, stretching the lead to 52-36 and never looked back, limiting the Eagles to eight field goals over the final 20 minutes. Five Hornets reached double-figure scoring with Lawson leading the way. Naomi White (Danville, Vt.) finished the evening with 17 points and nine boards followed by Ariel McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) with 15. Danielle LaFont (West Glover, Vt.) poured in 12 and Stephanie Barclay (Barre, Vt.) added 10 for Lyndon, including a 2-of-3 performance from beyond the three-point arc. The Hornets shot just under 40 percent on the evening and were 7-of-15 from 3-point land.

Sierra Pease lead GMC with 16 points and seven boards while Chelsea Paul chipped in with 12 and a team-high three assists.
