LEICESTER, Mass. - Lyndon upped its record to
4-3 on the season overall with a 7-2 match victory over Becker on
the Hawks' home courts.
Becker's Megan Nessen defeated Jenn Falsetti
(Albany, N.Y.) 6-0, 6-0 in first singles before Lyndon's Kayla Flynn (Johnston, RI) topped Laura Mimms 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 in No. 2
singles. The Hornets' Maria Parr (Montpelier, Vt.) beat
Danielle Stryker 6-2, 6-2 in third singles and temmate Kelsey Johnson (White River Junction, Vt.) bested Shuana McNally in No. 4
singles by scores of 6-2, 6-4.
Amber Hartman (Readsboro, Vt.) and Margaret George (Glover, Vt.)
closed out the match for Lyndon by earning wins in fifth and sixth
singles, defeating Jessica Burdick (6-2, 6-0) and Lianna
Woodbury (6-4, 3-6, 10-4), respectively.
In doubles action, Stryker and McNally teamed up at No. 1
doubles to slip by Johnson and Falsetti 9-8. Parr and Flynn
remained unbeaten as a team when they collected an 8-6 win in
second doubles over Nessen and Mimms. Hartman and Kaitlyn
Cunningham topped Woodbury and Courtney Johnson 9-8 in third
doubles play.
