Becker College scored nine unanswered goals in the first-half, as
the Hawks defeated Lyndon State 20-9 in men's lacrosse
action.
Joe Ignagni led the Hawks with
four goals in the first half, including the first three goals of
the game. Josh Fask added two goals as the Hawks took a commanding
9-0 lead into halftime. Becker outshot the Hornets 33-8 in the
first half.
Lyndon State opened the third
quarter by scoring the first three goals on reserve goalie Joe
Corcoran. Max Ercole (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) came off
the bench and scored a game-high six goals for the Hornets, but
Becker proved to have too much fire power.
All four players that scored for
the Hawks had at least three goals each. Ignangni and Jeff Petersen
finished the game with five goals each while Aaron Fill added four.
Josh Fask and Jay Ahern rounded out the scoring with three goals
apiece for Becker.
Lyndon goalkeeper Ed Horan (Norwood, Mass.) made 20 saves in a losing effort
and Hawks goalie Ryan Murphy earned the victory after making 12
saves.
