— Lyndon won its third North Atlantic Conference
men's tennis match of the season to improve to 3-1 overall,
defeating Johnson State College 8-1 at the Dudley Bell Tennis
Center.
In singles competition, Lyndon's
Teddy Fournier (Enfield, Conn.) fell to Ryan Joy
6-7, 6-4, 3-6 in the No. 1 singles matchup while Michael
Howard (Rocky Hill, Conn.) took the No. 2 match by a score
of 6-0, 6-3 over the Badgers' Steve Bolger. The Hornets'
Matt Lentes (Holyoke, Mass.) topped Alen Turan
6-3, 6-3 in No. 3 singles and teammate Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.) won a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Andrew
Watt in No. 4 singles.
Paul Thibault
(Westfield, Mass.) earned a tough 6-4, 6-4 win over Johnson's
Kyle Young in No. 5 singles and Lyndon's Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) closed out singles play by
defeating Peter LeBlanc 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles play, Fournier and
Howard defeated Joy and Bolger 8-3; Lentes and Thibault beat Turan
and Young 8-6; and the team of Powell and Schofield topped Algar
and James Dempsey 8-1.
