LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Alex Petti poured in five goals, and Erik Tillberg added three, to propel Johnson State to a 13-7 victory over Lyndon.

After playing to a 1-1 tie after 15 minutes of play, Justin Nelson gave the Badgers the lead for good at with a man-up goal at 11:28 of the second quarter. Goals by Tillberg and Petti extended the lead to three before Chris Mansour (Mansfield, Mass.) slashed the deficit to two with the first of his two goals at 8:12.

Goals by Petti, Steve Noyes and Tillberg all but put the game away as Lyndon could draw no closer than three the remainder of the contest.

Noyes and Billy Noyes had two goals each for Johnson and Max Ercole (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had a team-high three goals for Lyndon. Billy Noyes had three assists for the winners and Petti collected two.

Branden Sawyer made 11 saves to get the win and Hornets' goalkeeper Christian Henault (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had 25 saves in the loss.
