— The Lyndon men's tennis team slipped past
Johnson State College by a narrow margin of 5-4 on the
Badgers' home courts.
The Hornets' Teddy Fournier (Enfield, Conn.) fell 4-6, 1-6 to Johnson's
Ryan Joy in No. 1 singles while teammate Mike Howard (Rocky Hill, Conn.) defeated Steve Bolger 6-1, 6-4
in No. 2 singles. The team of Fournier and Howard defeated Joy
and Kyle Young 8-0 in No. 1 doubles.
In No. 3 singles, Lyndon's
Brad Darby (Sanford, Maine) recorded a 6-4, 6-3
victory over Alen Turan before the Badgers' Ben
Algar beat Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.)
6-3, 6-4 in No. 4 singles. Hornets' freshman Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) ran his unbeaten streak to
five matches with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Young in No. 5 singles
while Chris Shadrock (Boerne, Texas) defeated
Peter LeBlanc 6-0, 6-0 in No. 6 singles.
In No. 2 doubles, Bolger
and Turan defeated Powell and Schofield 8-5 and
the tandemo of Algar and Turan beat Shadrock
and Darby 8-4 in No. 3 doubles.
