— The Lyndon men's tennis team defeated Thomas
College 9-0 Sunday at Dudley Bell Tennis Center. With the win,
Lyndon improved to 4-1 overall and in the North Atlantic Conference
while the Terriers' to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the
NAC.
The Hornets' Teddy Fournier (Enfield, Conn.) picked up his fourth No. 1
singles win of the season with a 7-6, 6-2 decision over
Thomas' Jeremy Cliff while teammate Mike Howard (Rocky Hill, Conn.) defeated Andrew Folan 6-0, 6-0
in No. 2 singles. The team of Fournier and Howard then beat Cliff
and Howard 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.
In No. 3 singles, Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.) recorded a 6-4, 6-1 victory over
Scott Miglore and Tyler Schofield (Middleboro,
Mass.) won his No. 4 singles match against Mike Morris 6-3, 6-0.
Luke Haskell (Ellsworth, Maine) picked up a 6-4,
4-6, 6-4 win over Michael Kunkle in No. 5 singles while
Chris Shadrock (Boerne, Texas) defeated Keith Pike
6-0, 6-0 in No. 6 singles.
In No. 2 doubles, Powell and
Schofield defeated Miglore and Morris 8-31while Haskell and
Shadrock beat Kunkle and Pike 8-0 in No. 3 doubles.
