Lyndon improved to 2-0 as they picked up their first conference win
of the season topping Green Mountain College 10-8 in North Atlantic
Conference action.
Freshman Josh
Arango (Salisbury, Mass.) notched three goals and
collected three assists to power the Hornets while reigning NAC
Player of the Week Chris Mansour (Mansfield,
Mass.) added four goals and scooped eight ground balls. Goaltender
Ed Horan (Norwood, Mass.) stopped 13 shots to
preserve the win for Lyndon.
Max Talsky led the Eagles with
three goals and six ground balls while Eric Hansel added a pair of
goals and an assist. Keith Drinkwine stopped 22 shots for Green
Mountain.
The Hornets took an early lead
scoring three goals in the opening period courtesy of Arango and
Mansour before Talsky tallied three consecutive goals in the second
period to level the score at 3-3. Lyndon's Luke Norman-Lacroix (Barre, Vt.) scored the final goal of the
half with 1:25 remaining to send the visitors into the break with a
4-3 advantage. The Hornets blew the game open in the 3rd period
scoring five goals including four unanswered, capturing a 9-5
lead.
Green Mountain College battled
back in the final 15 minutes notching three goals including a pair
from Hansel to draw within a single goal (9-8), but an Arango tally
with 4:53 remaining sealed the victory for the Hornets.
