LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Lyndon earned a
berth in the North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division
finalswith a 7-0 victory over Johnson State. The final two singles
matches of the day went unfinished due to darkness.
Lyndon's Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.) topped Johnson's Emily
Miller 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 singles and teammate Maria Parr
(Montpelier, Vt.) defeated Kim Blakeman 6-3, 6-0 in third singles.
In No. 5 singles, the Hornets' Margaret George (Glover, Vt.) beat
Maegen Ploof 6-4, 6-1 before Kaitlin Cunningham (Manteca, Calif.)
earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in sixth singles over the Badgers' Catlyn
Hughes.
Lyndon's No. 1 singles player Kelsey Johnson (White River
Junction, Vt.) and fourth singles competitor Amber Hartman
(Readsboro, Vt.) led by scores of 6-4 and 6-2, respectively, when
their matches versus Rebecca Quarantiello and Katelyn Breault were
called for darkness.
In doubles action, Johnson and Jenn Falsetti (Albany, N.Y.)
teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Blakeman and Miller 8-4.
Hartman and Flynn collected an 8-4 win in second doubles over
Quarantiello and Breault while Cunningham and Erin Donnelly
(Franklin, Maine) topped Hughes and Kate Murphy, 8-4, in third
doubles play.
