JOHNSON, Vt. — Lyndon State upped its
record to 2-1 in the North Atlantic Conference with a 9-0 victory
over Johnson State College.
In singles competition, Lyndon's Danielle Jepson (Randolph, N.H.) beat Rebecca Quarantiello 6-2, 6-2
in the No. 1 matchup and Rebecca Irwin (Au Sable
Forks, N.Y.) took the No. 2 match over Johnson's Emily Miller 6-2,
6-3. The Hornets' Maria Parr (Montpelier, Vt.)
topped Allyson Cunningham 6-2, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
In No. 4 singles, LSC's Amber Hartmann
(Readsboro, Vt.) took three sets to defeat Katelyn Breault 6-4,
2-6, 10-5 while teammate Margaret George (Glover,
Vt.) won a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Kim Blakeman in No. 5 singles.
Kaitlin Cunningham (South Stratford, Vt.) topped
Orina Umansky 6-0, 6-0 in No. 6 singles to close out the
match.
In doubles play, Jepson and Irwin defeated Quarantiello and
Cunningham 8-7 (8-6); Parr and Hartman beat Miller and Breault 8-4;
and the team of George and Cunningham downed Umansky and Blakeman
8-3.
