Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Courtney Chadburn
scored four goals to lead Castleton State to a 7-0 win over Lyndon
State College in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer
action Saturday.
Chadburn staked the Spartans to an early lead 1-0 lead at 10:47
off an assist from Ashley Ledoux, and extended the advantage to 2-0
less than eight minutes later on an assist from Carisa Chadburn.
Megan Blongy's unassisted tally with 23 minutes left in the
half upped Castleton's lead to 3-0 heading into
intermission.
In the second half, Chadburn scored twice in a 10-minute span to
all but decide the issue. Carisa Chadburn collected her second
assist on Chadburn's third goal of the game while Maria Arnot
received credit for an assist on Chadburn's fourth tally of
the contest.
Ledoux and Jackie Lockwood would close out the scoring with one
goal each late in the game with assists going to Kristen Wickes and
Sarah Ethier, respectively.
Ericka Davis, who was relieved by Nakita Baldic at halftime,
earned the win in the Castleton net while Samantha Smith (North Haverhill, N.H.) took the loss. Davis and
Baldic combined to make two saves in the contest while the tandem
of Smith and Natalia Shams (Swampscott, Mass.) had
18. The Spartans (1-5-1) outshot the Lady Hornets by a margin of
35-3.
