Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon softball player Alyssa Gerrish (Fairfax, VT) has been named to the 2025 North Atlantic Conference Softball Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced on Thursday.
Gerrish played primarily in the outfield for the Hornets this past season. She played in 19 games, making 15 starts. She recorded two hits and six runs scored, with two runs batted in and a stolen base along with three putouts and an assist. She was also Lyndon's Green & Gold Award recipient, which is given to the female student athlete with the highest overall grade point average, and was named the Most Improved Player on the women's soccer team this past season.
Sportsmanship Team honorees were selected for consistently demonstrating the tenets of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. They positively influenced the softball culture and race environment by exemplifying integrity beyond the rules and etiquette of the sport.
Gerrish, a junior, is expected to return and emerge as a leader of the 2027 Hornet team.
