Alaska Native Fisher Lajoie commits to VTSU Lyndon Men's Soccer

Lyndonville, Vermont - Fisher Lajoie (Anchorage, Alaska) of A.J. Dimond High School in Anchorage, Alaska has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University - Lyndon Men's Soccer program for the Fall 2026 semester.  Lajoie will study Software Engineering. 

Lajoie, a left back/right back, was a 3-year varsity performer for the Lynx. He helped lead his team to a Conference Championship victory and the State Qualifier tournament during his time. In addition to his high school success, Lajoie has found lots of success at the club level. A member of the Anchorage Soccer Club, Idaho Timbers, and North Timbers, throughout the years.  He was a 3-time Far North Winner and named the Far North Most Valuable Player. His club team was also a 2-time state champion, and won the bronze medal in the Arctic Winter Games. Lajoie had a standout performance during the games, scoring 4 goals in 4 games including the game winner to secure the medal.  Beyond soccer, he was an all-state honorable mention kicker for the State Champion Lynx football team and a 3-year varsity wrestler.

Lajoie has also been an outstanding student and valuable member to his school and community. During his wrestling career, he received 2 all-state GPA awards for his academic success. He was a 2-year member of the Anchorage Youth Symphony, the Robotics club, and a volunteer for the Go Red for Women Non-Profit organization. He also spent time as the assistant wrestling coach for his middle school wrestling program. 

Head Coach of VTSU Lyndon Men's Soccer, Zach Blaser feels that Lajoie will be a great help for the upcoming season, "Fisher is a technically gifted player with great vision and has the ability to help the team in both the defensive and offensive third. We look forward to having him on the team for this upcoming season."

In addition to Blaser's praises, Lajoie's high school and club coach both had wonderful things to say. "Your possession and ball movement have been excellent", said his high school coach. His club coach spoke to Lajoie's strengths as well, "Fisher, your commitment and coach ability are your superpowers. You show up, you work hard, and you apply feedback". 

Lajoie is the first commit for Lyndon's Fall 2026 recruiting class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commitments in the near future.
