The Vermont State University Men's soccer team never quite found their stride, battling SUNY Delhi to an eventual 10-0 loss.
The Delhi Broncos (7-3-5 Overall, 5-1-2 NAC) would find the back of the net quickly in the contest when Aidan Gaughan found some space for a shot. The Hornet Defense would turn away a flurry of Bronco crosses and shots before Sean Szczcotka would receive a through ball from Gaughan and put the Broncos up 2-0. The Broncos onslaught would result in two more goals before the end of the half, despite the best efforts from the Hornet's back line.
Unfortunately for the Lyndon Hornets (1-14 Overall, 0-8 NAC), their second half performance was a step down from the first half. The Broncos were able to cut down on the Hornets possession and capitalize on mistakes to score six goals within the second half. Aidan Gaughan would lead the Broncos in goals with two. Matthew Bender would lead the Broncos with three assists. Goalkeeper Parker Pierce (Woodstock, VT) would make 10 saves in net for the Hornets.
The Hornets will play their last game at home this upcoming Saturday, October 25th, against the Lesley University Lynx. The game will begin at 3:30pm, with senior day announcements happening before kick off.
