Johnson, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's basketball team dropped a 106-97 decision to Vermont Technical College on the opening night of the NVU Tip-Off Classic, hosted by NVU-Johnson.  The game was the season opener for the Hornets.  Vermont Tech, a United States Collegiate Athletic Association national semi-finalist a year ago, improves to 3-0 on the campaign.

The Hornets will face Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm on day two of the Tip-Off Classic.  MCLA was a 77-63 winner over NVU-Johnson in Friday's nightcap.
