Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Chad Copeland had 27 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots as Castleton held of pesky Lyndon long enough to record a 96-81 North Atlantic Conference men's basketball victory Tuesday at Stannard Gymnasium.
The Spartans led 46-35 at halftime only to see the Hornets trim the deficit to six on two occasions in the second half. But Castleton managed to connect on half of their shot attempts in the final 20 minutes of play and walk off with its fifth win of the season overall.
Carnelius Green had 17 points, four assists, and three steals for the Spartans (5-5, 3-1) and while Chad Pulver and Logan white added 14 rebounds and 14 points, respectively. Tyler Ackley had 13 points, four assists and three steals off the bench for the winners.
JoJo Woodruff (Washington, D.C.) poured in 18 points off the bench to lead the Hornets (2-9, 2-3) while Josh Bosworth (East Longmeadow, Mass.) chipped in 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds and five steals. Howard Lyles (Washington, D.C.) had 14 points and two steals in the loss and Rob Alers (Central Falls, R.I.) contributed 10 points and two steals.
