Box Score

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Castleton broke open a close game with a 40-point second-half surge and walked off with a 63-37 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lyndon Tuesday at Stannard Gymnasium.

The Spartans and Hornets stumble through cold shooting and a turnover-plagued first half where the two squads combined for more than 20 turnovers and less than 10 assists. Castleton shot a mere 29 percent from the floor overall and Lyndon did not fare much better, connecting on only 27 percent of its shot attempts.

Shelby LaBarge led the Spartans with 12 points, 14 rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals while teammates Alyssa Leonard and Stephanie Bull chipped in 18 and 13 points, respectively. Jade Desroches had five assists and three steals for Castleton, who improved to 10-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the NAC.
