Box Score RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. – Sarah Cornell scored two goals and Marley Harmon turned away three shots to lead Lyndon to an 8-0 non-conference victory over Vermont tech Saturday in women's collegiate soccer action.
Katy Ebner (Hampstead, N.H.) broke a scoreless tie with her first goal of the season at 16:53 and Cornell (Lyndonville, Vt.) followed with her first tally less than 10 minutes later to give the Hornets a quick 2-0 advantage. Georgia Bussink (Annapolis, Md.) drew an assist on the play.
Saiya Sok (Milford, Conn.) upped the Lyndon lead to 3-0 at 28:24 off an assist from Emily Strese (Gilmanton, N.H.) before Ritza Arias (Canaan, Vt.) found the back of the net less than one minute later. Erika Lind closed out the scoring in the first half with an unassisted marker at 30:58.
In the second half, Lindi Libera (Burke, Vt.) opened the scoring at 46:39 and Cornell scored her second goal of the match moments later off a feed from Ebner. Ebner earned her second assist of the game by setting up Strese for Lyndon's final goal at 62:03.
Harmon was credited with the shout out and earned the first win of her collegiate career. Green Knights' goalie Eileen Gomez made 17 saves in taking the loss. Lyndon (1-3) out shot Vermont Tech (1-6) 36-4 and held a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.
