LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Castleton jumped out to a 10-0 lead Saturday and walked off with a 78-44 North Atlantic Conference road win over Lyndon.

The Hornets (5-10, 3-7) managed to stay with striking distance for the first half, but a late Spartan spurt gave the visitors a 49-28 lead at intermission.

Alyssa Leonard led a balanced attack with 19 points and six rebounds and Shelby LaBarge added 12 points and three rebounds for Castleton (15-1, 8-1).Kelly Conway dished out six assists in the victory and Jade Desroches had four steals.

Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) had 13 points, five rebounds, one blocked shot and one steal to lead Lyndon and Aimee Thompson (Barnet, Vt.) chipped in 10 points and five rebounds. Emily Slayton Jefferson, Vt.) had a team-high two assists for the Hornets.
