Badgers hold off Hornets

JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State picked up a North Atlantic Conference victory, their first of the season, by holding off visiting Lyndon 77-73.

JSC was paced by Scott Moran and Bryan Hickey who each scored 17 points with Hickey just missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Cody Camisa and Cory Chase each added 12 points for the Badgers.

Lyndon's Asa Smith (Cheltenham, Md.) scored a game-high 22 points and grabed nine rebounds while Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) supplied 18 points and 10 rebounds. Richie Hackett (Barton, Vt.) chipped in with 12 points.

Johnson State's efforts were keyed all day by Andy Bousono who finished with game-high's in assists (eight) and steals (five).

Bousono and the Badgers took a five-point lead into halftime, saw it grow to as much as 18 points in the second half, but a late Lyndon surge got the Hornets to within four points late before the time fully elapsed.
