Box Score 2 LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The Johnson State
College women's volleyball team captured its first victory of
the season with a hard-fought 3-2 match win over Lyndon. The
Badgers won the match by set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 16-25, 24-26
and 15-11.
Chelsea Vaillincourt led the Badgers with a nine-kill, 13-dig
effort and Alex Benlock added eight kills and 10 services aces.
Kylie Van Etten amassed seven aces, 11 assists and a team-high 15
digs while teammate Molly Grover chipped in seven aces and 12
digs.
The Hornets' Christine Bailey (Lyndonville, Vt.) had eight
kills and 10 digs in the loss, and Jaclyn Brett (Weymouth, Mass.)
collected seven assists and 11 digs. Ally Ciaramitaro (Melrose,
Mass.) had four assists and a match-high 21 digs, and Erica Ponte
(Westport, Mass.) finished the day with six kills and 13 digs.
The Hornets opened the day with a 3-0 setback at the hands of
the University of Maine at Machias. The Clippers earned the victory
by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-12.
Amber Frey had nine kills for UMaine-Machias and Elisa Boyd had
10 assists and 12 digs in the win. Bailey had eight kills for
Lyndon while Ciaramitaro chipped in seven assists and 17 digs.
