Box Score RUTLAND, Vt. - Avery
King (Pawtucket, R.I.) scored 29 points and four
steals to lead Lyndon State College to a 111-97 win over the
College of St. Joseph. King connected on 11-of-21 field goal
attempts, including three three-point field goals. He also hit four
of six free throw attempts.
Jason Gray (East
Thetford, Vt.) contributed 23 points and 15 rebounds for the
Hornets while Ben Sackett (Lyndonville, Vt.), who
hit five three-point field goal attempts, had 18 points in the
contest. Jose Fortunado (Boston, Mass.) netted 15
points, and Logan Calkins (Danville, Vt.) rounded
out the list of double-digit scorers with 12. Fortunado also
collected 11 rebounds and 14 assits to earn the first
triple-double of his career.
Doug Childs tallied a team-high 25
points for the Fighting Saints and teammate Brad Drysdale chipped
in 22 points and 14 rebounds. Tyler Harrington collected 16
points and six assits in the loss and Jamaal Thomas had 12 points
for CSJ. Thomas and Jamie Rajda also had four steals each in the
game.
