Lyndonville, VT - Fisher College plated 16 runs in the first four innings and went on to defeat Vermont State University Lyndon, 19-2, in Tuesday's non-conference baseball game. The Falcons improved to 23-21 with the win, while the Hornets saw their five game winning streak snapped and fell to 15-18.
Armando Torres had a huge game at the top of the Fisher batting order. He was four for five at the plate with four runs batted in and foru runs scored. Moises Febrillet added three hits, three runs batted in and two runs scored and the Falcons capitalized on nine Lyndon errors.
Ismael El Gharbi (Revere, MA) had two of Lyndon's four hits. Luke Senecal-Lamothe (Benson, VT) and Jess Seaton (Yorkville, IL) were the only other Hornets to hit safely.
Fisher starter Maylo Sierra picked up the win after he allowed only two unearned runs and four hits while striking out eight batters against two walks over five innings of work. Lyndon starter Eric Hernandez Jr. (Fairfax, VT) took the loss.
Lyndon will host Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The games were originally rained out on April 19th. Wednesday's originally scheduled non-conference game against Norwich University has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
