Bangor, ME - The Vermont State University Lyndon women's basketball team hung with Husson University into the second half of Friday's North Atlantic Conference contest. A big Eagle third quarter run made the difference, as Husson pushed their lead into . With the loss, the Hornets moved to 13–11 overall and 8–9 in North Atlantic Conference play, while Husson improved to 16–8 overall and 14–3 in NAC competition.
Lyndon was paced by junior guard Skylar Begay (Tucson, AZ), who scored a team-high 19 points,. Senior guard Ella Huntington (Taylorsville, UT) added 13 points and led the Hornets on the boards with seven rebounds and five assists.
For Husson, Saige Evans led the way with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Lilly Roy added 15 points and Savannah Roy chipped in with ten. The Eagles dominated the glass, 54-33, which proved to be the difference in the game.
Lyndon closes out the regular season with a NAC contest at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
