Farmington, ME — The Vermont State University Lyndon women's basketball team suffered from an ice cold shooting night on Monday, resulting in a 63-45 North Atlantic Conference loss at the University of Maine at Farmington. UMF improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in NAC play, while Lyndon fell to 8-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference.
UMF built an early advantage with a strong first quarter and maintained control through the second half. The Beavers were led by Jaydn Pingree, who scored a game-high 21 points, and Melissa Mayo, who added nine points.
Meanwhile Lyndon only connected on 16 of 66 shots (24.2%). Hawa Mubarak (Burlington, VT) was the only Hornet in double figures, finishing with ten points. Kiara Mack (Milton, VT) added nine points and 12 rebounds, while senior guard Ella Huntington (Taylorsville, UT) contributed seven points and three assists.
Lyndon remains in Maine for a Tuesday contest at NAC leading Maine Maritime Academy. Tip time is 3:00 pm in Castine, ME.
