Bangor, ME - The Vermont State University Lyndon men's soccer team fell to Husson 11-0 in a weekend conference match up.
The Eagles (2-5-3, 2-0 NAC) scored 3 times in a 5 minute stretch before the Hornet (1-7, 0-3 NAC) defense stiffened, only allowing 2 more goals late into the first half.
After halftime, Husson continued to dominate possession while the Hornets turned away many of the Eagles attempts on goals. However, the pressure from the Eagles led to small cracks in the Hornet defense for them to exploit, leading to 6 more Husson goals.
Davide Panci had a hat trick to lead The Eagles in goals and Goalkeepers Joe Buchanan (McCordsville, IN) and Parker Pierce (Woodstock, VT) combined for 17 saves. Johan Songe created the only shot for Lyndon off a half volley, while Husson had 65 shots.
Despite the tough loss for the Hornets, it was a huge improvement from when they last played Husson in 2023 when they lost the contest 23-0. The Hornets will look to improve on another conference result when they travel to Umaine Presque Isle tomorrow, 9/27.
