Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball team dropped a straight-sets decision Friday night to Maine Maritime Academy, 25-7, 25-8, 25-10, in a North Atlantic Conference matchup at the George W. Stannard Gymnasium.
Maine Maritime (18-8, 7-0 NAC) dominated from the opening whistle, collecting 40 kills on a .373 attack percentage while holding VTSU Lyndon to just seven kills and a -0.033 clip.
The Hornets (3-21, 1-6 NAC) struggled to gain traction, managing just 12 points per set and only two aces compared to their opponent's 21.
Key individual performances for Maine Maritime included Ally Hadley with 12 kills, five aces and a .588 hitting percentage. Â Ila Smith added 9 kills and 13 points, while Breanna Kerr pounded seven aces.
For Lyndon, Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) was tops with three kills and six points.  Sydney Clunis (Windsor, ON) chipped in two kills and eight digs, and Hannah Badertscher (Irasburg, VT) had one kill, two blocks and two points.
The Hornets will close out the 2025 season on Sunday afternoon when they host Husson University at 1:00 pm.
