Lyndonville, VT - Maine Maritime Academy scored early and often on Saturday afternoon, rolling to an 8–0 victory over Vermont State University Lyndon in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action at Varsity Field.
The Mariners wasted no time taking control against the Hornets' depleted roster, with Hadley Stoddard striking just over a minute into the match. Stoddard went on to record three goals and an assist in the opening 10 minutes, powering Maine Maritime to a 4–0 lead before the Hornets could settle in.
Mayako Brown added a goal in the fourth minute off a Stoddard assist, while Eva Washko and Lillyanna Ash each found the net midway through the first half to extend the lead. Rebecca Simmons and Cora Brewster closed out the scoring before halftime to make it 8–0 at the break.
The Mariners held a commanding 19–0 edge in shots and 14–0 advantage in shots on goal. Lyndon goalkeeper Aracely Delgado-Juarez (LaBelle, FL) finished with six saves under heavy pressure.
With the win, Maine Maritime improved to 8–3 overall and 5–0 in NAC play. Lyndon dropped to 0–6 on the season and 0–5 in conference action. Lyndon will have little time to regroup, as they will host Thomas College in another NAC showdown on Sunday afternoon at noon.
