Bangor, ME - Husson University sprinted to a 30-6 lead after the first quarter of Monday's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game against Vermont State University Lyndon. The host Eagles continued to pull away from there, rolling to to a 103-44 victory over the Hornets. With the win, Husson improved to 4-9 overall and 3-1 in NAC play. Lyndon dropped to 3-7 on the season and 1-1 in conference.
Husson placed four players in double figures, ked by Sage Evans with 14 points. Maci Beals and Makaelyn Porter added 12 points apiece and Alana Seward joined them in double figures with ten points. Th deeper Eagle bench outscored the Lyndon reserves, 71-4.
Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) paced Lyndon with a game high 19 points. Ella Huntington (Taylorsville, UT) was the only other Hornet to reach double figures, finishing with ten points. Smith and Huntington pulled down eight and six rebounds respectively.
Lyndon stuggled to take care of the ball, turning it over 32 times to only nine for Husson. The Eagles turned those turnovers into 43 points. Husson only committed nine turnovers themselves.
Lyndon returns to action on Tuesday afternoon, when they take on Maine Maritime Academy. Tip-off in Castine, ME, is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
