Lyndonville, VT - Playing on the second day of a back to back, the Vermont State University Lyndon men's soccer team couldn't get anything going in Sunday's 10-0 North Atlantic Conference loss to the State University of New York at Cobleskill. with the win, Cobleskill improved o 2-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference. Lyndon fell to 0-7-1 on the season and 0-2 in the NAC.
Connor Fancher scored three goals to lead the Tigers. Joshua Sanchez, Tyler Szarek, and Declan McCracken added two goals apiece, and Trenton Cole scored once. Spencer Reisman and John Espinoza tallied two assists each.
Lyndon could only muster Brooks Enzensperger's (Arlington, VT) shot on goal late in the first half and a pair of shots from David Gratton (Newport, VT).
Adam Champlin, Joe Wille, and James Longwell combined for the shutout in goal for the Tigers, with Champlin making the only save. Hornet goalkeeper D'Amecio Singleton (Savannah, GA) made 11 saves in net.
The Hornets will return to the pitch on Thursday for a non-conference matchup with Fisher College. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Fisher on Wednesday, but was moved to Varsity Field on Thursday. Start time is 3:30 pm.
