Lyndonville, VT - Fisher College swept a pair of non-conference volleyball matches against Vermont State University Lyndon on Thursday evening. The Falcons improved to 17-12 in the process, while the Hornets fell to 0-14.
Match 1 - Fisher 3, VTSU Lyndon 0 (25-13, 25-7, 25-4)
Alicia Tkach had a big match for the Falcons, notching 12 kills.and seven aces. Natalia Ramirez had 14 assists and Diana Rios added ten assists. Edsyl Irazarry had a match high 16 digs.
Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led Lyndon with four kills. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) had a pair of assists and six digs for the Hornets.
Match 2 - Fisher 3, VTSU Lyndon 0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-9)
Caroline Saucier paced a balanced Fisher attack with eight kills. Ramirez had 18 assists and six aces while Irazarry was credited with 14 digs.
Mack had three kills and Kazandra Gonzalez (Norwalk, CA had three assists for Lyndon.Morris recorded a team best six digs.
Thursday's doubleheader served as Lyndon's annual Dig Pink games. The Hornet volleyball program joined volleyball porgrams from around the country in using the games to support and raise awareness of the Side-Out Foundation's research in the fight against metastatic breast cancer.
The Hornets will go on the road on Sunday for a pair of matches against Vermont State University Johnson. The first match, a North Atlantic Conference contest, will begin at 1:00 pm, with a non-conference match to follow.
