Utica, NY - The State University of New York Polytechnic Institute shot a blistering 66% in the first half of Friday's North Atlantic Conference crossover game with Vermont State University Lyndon. As a result, the host Wildcats sprinted to a 54-24 halftime advantage on the way to a 98-57 victory over the Hornets. SUNY Poly improved to 9-7 on the season and 4-1 in NAC play, while Lyndon remained winless in 14 games, including five conference outings.
Cheickne Toure topped four double figure scorers for SUNY Poly, finishing with 16 points. Kamryn Comstock posted a double double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Dylan Ernst and Elijah Smith added 11 and ten points respectively.
Tavarius Vance (Barre, VT) led Lyndon with 15 points and six rebounds. Peyton Olsen (Middleburgh, NY) was Lyndon's only other double figure scorer with 12 points.
The Hornets will conclude their weekend road trip with another NAC crossover game on Saturday afternoon when they take on the State University of New York at Cobleskill. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
