Cobleskill, NY - The State University of New York at Cobleskill proved to be too much for Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse matchup. The host Tigers ran out to a 13-1 halftime lead on their way to a 21-5 victory. Cobleskill improved to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the NAC with the win, while Lyndon fell to 1-4 on the season and in conference.
William Bockhaus and Jake Giess scored four goals apiece for Cobleskill. Kerry Blackwood, Sean D'Amaro, and Gregory Neumann added three goals each. Bockhaus finished with a team best eight ground balls.
Foster Smallman (Beverly, MA) scored three times for Lyndon. Bodhi English (Livermore, CA) and Elias Libby (Rockport, ME) had the other Hornet goals. Libby also collected a game high 15 ground balls.
Lyndon goalie Matthew McGeehan and his Cobleskill counterpart, John Williams both played the full 60 minutes in goal. McGeehan made 17 saves to 11 for Williams.
The Hornets will host Maine Maritime Academy next Saturday at 3:00 pm on Varsity Field. The game will be the team's Senior Day.
